Cancer Research & Clinical Trials

Our research team developed this section focused on clinical trials and relevant research for individuals living with breast cancer and their loved ones. Please use the tabs to the left to navigate through the resources we have created for you. Or, begin by simply asking the question, "What are clinical trials?"

OUR RESEARCH MISSION:

In addition to delivering state-of-the-art care, our physicians and scientists are involved in various research efforts, including traditional and nontraditional approaches. These efforts take the form of pre-clinical translational research, clinical trials, and outcomes research to:

  • Investigate the fundamental causes of breast cancer at the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle levels
  • Understand what can be done to prevent cancer or to diagnose it as early as possible
  • Analyze the biology of cancer to develop innovative strategies for treatment
  • Test and evaluate new treatments, whether in the area of conventional medicine, novel biological drugs or alternative medicines
  • Integrate patient decision-making and psychosocial support
  • Focus on public policy development on issues surrounding mammographic screening, genetic testing, and timely evaluation of new treatments
